Before you start
Instagram only allows scheduling tools to publish to professional accounts — that means a Business or Creator account, not a personal one. Switching is free and takes a minute in the Instagram app: Settings → Account type and tools → Switch to professional account. Your followers and content are unaffected.
How connecting works in Velisto
Social profiles connect to your account once, then each workspace activates the profiles it should post to. Solo agents with one workspace won't notice the difference; for teams and agencies it means an agent's Instagram can be connected once and used only in the right workspace.
Connect it
- Open Workspace settings → Social profiles and click Add profile.
- If the Instagram account is already connected to your Velisto account, it appears under From your account — click Add and you're done.
- Otherwise choose Instagram to connect a new one. You'll be sent to Instagram to log in and approve access.
- Approve, pick the account, and you're back in Velisto with the profile active in this workspace.
You can also manage all connected profiles account-wide under Settings → Social profiles.
Troubleshooting
- "Could not retrieve your Instagram account. Make sure it is a Business or Creator account." — the account you logged in with is still a personal account. Switch it to professional (above) and connect again.
- Needs reconnect badge — Instagram periodically expires access. Click the profile and reconnect; scheduled posts resume publishing once reconnected.
- Wrong account connected — remove the profile and connect again, making sure you're logged into the right Instagram account in your browser first.
