Arrange scenes, timing, and photo crops

Each photo becomes a scene. The strip at the bottom controls the sequence; the settings panel controls the selected scene. Open a Reel or Video from photos and add your photos first.

Put the photos in order

1. Select a thumbnail to inspect its image in the large preview.
2. Drag thumbnails left or right to change their order.
3. Use Add scene to select another image from your library.
4. Use a scene's remove control to leave it out of this video.
5. Select a scene and choose Replace photo to change its image without rebuilding the whole sequence.

Removing a scene removes it from the video you are preparing. Check the scene count afterward: dropping below the minimum disables creation.

The highlighted thumbnail identifies the scene you are changing.

Set how long a photo stays on screen

Use Duration for the selected scene. The control currently runs from 1.5 to 10 seconds in half-second steps. The footer updates the approximate total running time as you make changes.

Try three seconds for a straightforward photo, and a little longer for a scene carrying useful text. Watch the finished video to judge pacing; the editor's selected-scene preview is not the full rendered sequence.

Choose movement

Ken Burns in slowly zooms toward the photo; out moves away. The pan controls move across it in the indicated direction. Choose none when movement makes a room hard to understand or pushes an important feature out of view.

Movement and cropping work together. A photo that barely fits at the start may lose its edges as it moves, so check the actual MP4 as well as the still preview.

Choose how the photo fits

The scene panel changes one photo. The Image fit · applies to all scenes control in the scene summary changes the whole sequence. After applying a global choice, revisit photos that need individual attention.
