Choose a format for your social channels

Understand why channel choices change when you create a feed post, story, or video.

A format describes what you are making; a channel is the social profile where it will go. The available combination depends on the connected platform and the media in your post.

Choose the format first

In Promote a listing → Single post, the format choices include Feed Post, Story, and Video. The app explains each option and limits channel choices where needed.

  • Feed Post can use a designed cover and listing photos.
  • Story uses a vertical presentation for supported Instagram and Facebook destinations.
  • Video turns photos into scenes and uses video-compatible destinations.

Other creation flows may offer their own format choices. Use the formats and validation shown in the current flow as the guide for that post.

Review before scheduling

Check the media preview, aspect ratio, crop, caption, and selected destination. A design that looks good as a square feed image may need a different composition in a story. A carousel needs its slides in the intended order.

When a channel is unavailable

Confirm the social profile is connected and added to this workspace. Then check whether the chosen format or media is supported for it. If the composer reports a media or caption problem, fix that message before scheduling.

Platform availability can change. A platform visible in an account's connection options is not a promise that every format is supported on it. See the connection guides for setup, and publishing troubleshooting when an attempt fails.
