The Design editor changes the layout itself: objects, fonts, colors, image placement, layers, and canvas size. Use Content mode for filling an existing layout with new facts; use Design when the layout needs to change.
1. Open an editable design
Open Content → Create, pick a template, and choose Use template. Your own editable templates offer a Design tab. On a system template, Design is disabled because the original is shared: choose Customize, give the copy a useful name, and confirm Duplicate.
For a new layout, choose Blank canvas, select the format and size, then choose Create. You start with an unsaved canvas.
2. Choose the right panel

3. Edit and check the canvas
Select the object you want to change. For text, check the words, typeface, size, alignment, and color. For a photo, check its crop and placement. Use Layers when an object is hidden behind another and the canvas is difficult to select directly.
Make one major change at a time, then zoom out to review the whole design. After a size change, inspect every object: a portrait layout may need a new arrangement when made square. Keep important text and logos clear of the edge.
4. Save the template, then create the output
Use the editor's Save or Save changes control to keep the editable layout. For a new template, complete the naming and format details in the save dialog. Where Fill & render is available, it takes you into the content/output step. If prompted about unsaved changes, choose deliberately whether to save them before continuing.
An Export template download contains the template, not the ready-to-post image. Use the Content export controls for the finished file.
Common fixes
- Design is disabled: use Customize on the system template, or check access to the workspace template.
- The wrong object moves: select it through Layers and inspect its position.
- Branding looks wrong: check the active persona and the assets actually present on the canvas.
- Text is cut off: shorten it, adjust its size or text box, and recheck at a realistic viewing size.
