Every scheduler on this list will publish a post at 9am on Thursday. That part is solved, and has been for years. What separates them is everything around that moment: what the tool costs once you add your second user and your tenth channel, whether it can publish a Story without pinging your phone, whether your broker can approve a post before it goes live, and how it decides when things go out.
So this comparison skips the feature tours and looks at those four mechanics for seven schedulers. If your problem starts earlier, at making the content in the first place, our comparison of the best social media tools for real estate agents covers design, video and ready-made content. If you are still deciding what to post and how often, start with the real estate social media marketing guide and come back here for the tool.

Velisto publishes this guide and is included in the comparison. We have compared each platform on the same scheduling mechanics rather than ranking Velisto first, and several tools beat Velisto on the points below. Prices, plans and features were checked on each company's own pricing page and help center on September 24, 2026.

How we evaluated these schedulers
We read each vendor's pricing page and help center rather than marketing pages, and we have not run a hands-on trial of all seven. For each tool we checked four things: how the price scales with channels and users, which plan first includes post approval, which formats it publishes automatically versus by phone notification, and how its queue decides posting times. Where a vendor's documentation did not answer a question, we say so rather than guess.
Velisto — best for creating and scheduling real estate content in one place
Most schedulers start when the post is finished. Velisto can start earlier, with the content: AI writes captions in your brand voice, 200+ Design Studio templates turn them into branded designs, and the reels editor turns property photos into video. Posts can start from a listing, from real estate topics Velisto suggests, or from your own idea, and they land in the same calendar. The tools comparison covers the creation side; here is the scheduling side.
Cost model. Priced per plan, not per channel. Solo is $59 a month ($49 billed yearly) for 5 social profiles and 1 user; Team is $99 ($79) for 15 profiles and 5 users; Brokerage is $249 ($199) for 50 profiles and 30 users. Agency plans give each client its own workspace from $149 a month. Solo, Team and Brokerage start with a 7-day free trial.
Approvals. Generated content plans land on the calendar as unapproved, and you approve each channel's version before it publishes. There is no step where a second person signs off, so if your broker must approve every post, look at SocialPilot, Buffer Team or Later Growth.
Queue and timing. Each workspace has its own timezone and posting slots, and posts can go to the next free slot or a specific time typed in plain words, such as "tomorrow at 10am". Repeating posts run daily, weekly, every two weeks or monthly, with an option to rewrite the caption each time. Each channel keeps its own caption.
Formats and networks. Instagram feed posts, carousels, Reels and Stories, Facebook Pages, TikTok and Threads. That is the fewest networks here; LinkedIn and YouTube are built and awaiting platform approval, not live.
Best for. Agents, teams and brokerages who want their posts created as well as scheduled. The real estate social media scheduler page walks through the calendar, and the social media management software page covers the whole platform; see pricing.
Buffer — best for simple, affordable scheduling
Cost model. Per channel. The free plan covers 3 channels with 10 scheduled posts each. Essentials is $6 per channel a month, or $5 billed yearly; Team is $12, or $10 yearly. Channels above ten drop to $4 a month ($3.33 yearly), which softens the per-channel model at brokerage scale.
Approvals. On Team only.
Queue and timing. Each channel has a weekly posting schedule of time slots, and queued posts take the next free slot. Bulk upload by CSV works on every plan, up to 100 posts per channel per upload on paid plans.
Formats. Instagram posts, carousels, Reels and basic Stories publish automatically from Business or Creator accounts. Stories with text or stickers, and Reels with music or links, go by phone notification. First comments can be scheduled on paid plans. Buffer publishes to eleven networks, including LinkedIn, YouTube, Pinterest and Google Business Profile.
Honest verdict: if you already make everything in Canva or CapCut and just want reliable, inexpensive publishing, Buffer is very likely a better choice than Velisto, and it reaches far more networks. buffer.com/pricing
Later — best for visual social media planning
Cost model. Per social set, where a set holds one profile on each of eight networks. Starter is $25 a month ($18.75 yearly) for 1 set and 1 user; Growth is $50 ($37.50) for 2 sets and 2 users; Scale is $110 ($82.50) for 6 sets and 4 users. Starter caps posts at 30 per profile a month and Growth at 180. Extra sets and users can be added on Growth and Scale, not on Starter.
Approvals. From Growth. They do not apply to Stories.
Queue and timing. Quick Schedule fills weekly time slots, but Instagram and TikTok posts scheduled that way publish by notification. Best-time suggestions cover one profile on every plan and several profiles from Growth.
Formats. Instagram feed posts, carousels and Reels publish automatically. Stories auto-publish only from Business profiles; Creator profiles get a notification. First comments are available on every plan.
Honest verdict: if planning how the grid looks matters to you and your content already exists, Later's Visual Planner is more mature than anything Velisto offers. later.com/pricing
Metricool — best for scheduling with strong analytics
Cost model. Per brand, where a brand holds one profile per network. There is a free plan for 1 brand with 20 posts a month. Starter costs $25 to $45 a month ($20 to $36 yearly) for 5 to 10 brands; Advanced costs $67 to $210 ($53 to $159 yearly) for 15 to 50 brands. Starter includes no extra team members, so any shared account needs Advanced.
Approvals. On Advanced and Custom only.
Queue and timing. Best-time suggestions and Autolists, which publish a list of posts automatically, come on every plan including Free. Recurring scheduling is Advanced only. Posts can be imported by CSV.
Formats. Instagram posts, carousels, Reels and Stories publish automatically from Business or Creator accounts, except Stories with links or stickers and Reels with outside audio. Facebook Reels and Stories, TikTok videos and TikTok photo posts can all be scheduled. First comments work on Instagram posts and Reels.
Honest verdict: the best analytics and competitor tracking per dollar on this list. Velisto's reporting is simpler. metricool.com/pricing
SocialPilot — best for teams managing many accounts
Cost model. Tiered by social accounts. Essentials is $20 a month ($17 yearly) for 5 accounts and 1 user; Standard is $40 ($34) for 10 accounts and 3 users; Premium is $100 ($85) for 20 accounts and 6 users; Ultimate is $200 ($170) for 40 accounts and unlimited users. Extra accounts cost $4 a month and extra users $5.
Approvals. Content and manager approval workflows start on Standard, which makes SocialPilot the cheapest way on this list to put a second pair of eyes on every post. Client approval starts on Premium.
Queue and timing. Smart Queues with weekly time slots and repeating posts on every plan, AI-suggested posting times, and bulk scheduling by CSV from Standard.
Formats. Instagram posts, carousels, Stories and Reels publish directly from Business or Creator accounts, TikTok publishes directly by default, and first comments work on every plan.
Honest verdict: strong value for teams and small brokerages, especially where approvals are required. Velisto's advantage is producing the content, not account-management depth. socialpilot.co/pricing
Hootsuite — best for mature all-in-one social management
Cost model. Per user. Standard is $99 per user a month billed yearly, with 10 social accounts; Professional is $199 and Advanced is $399 per user, both with unlimited accounts. Monthly billing exists at a higher, unpublished price. Enterprise is quoted.
Approvals. On Advanced and Enterprise only, so a three-person team that needs approvals pays about $1,197 a month.
Queue and timing. Recommended publishing times and bulk scheduling by CSV, up to 350 posts, on every plan, though not during the free trial.
Formats. Instagram feed posts and Reels publish directly from Business profiles, up to 25 a day. Every Instagram Story, and every post from a Creator profile, goes through the mobile notification workflow. First comments work on directly published posts.
Honest verdict: a brokerage that needs an inbox, listening, governance and approvals across many networks will be better served by Hootsuite than by Velisto today. For a solo agent or a small team, the per-user price is hard to justify. hootsuite.com/plans
Sprout Social — best for advanced teams and analytics
Cost model. Per seat. Essentials is $99 a seat a month ($79 yearly) and Standard $249 ($199), both with 5 profiles; Professional is $399 ($299) and Advanced $499 ($399), both with unlimited profiles.
Approvals. Message approval from Professional; approval by people outside your team on Advanced.
Queue and timing. Sprout Queue and ViralPost optimal send times on every plan; bulk scheduling from Professional.
Formats. Instagram images, videos, Reels, carousels and Stories publish directly, except Stories with stickers or notes and Reels with library music. TikTok videos publish directly from Business accounts, but TikTok image posts are not supported. Facebook Reels are supported and Facebook Stories are not. First comments are supported.
Honest verdict: excellent for established teams that can justify the spend. Per-seat pricing at this level adds up fast for a small brokerage. sproutsocial.com/pricing
What each scheduler costs for a solo agent, a team and a brokerage
Headline prices are not comparable, because each tool counts something different. Here is what each one costs for three common setups, on the cheapest published plan that covers them. Figures are per month with monthly billing, with the annual-billing price in brackets.
- Solo agent: 3 channels (Instagram, Facebook Page, TikTok), 1 user.
- Team: 10 channels, 3 users, approval needed.
- Brokerage: 25 channels, 5 users, approval needed.
| Tool | Solo agent | Team | Brokerage |
|---|---|---|---|
| Velisto | $59 ($49), Solo | $99 ($79), Team, no second-person approval | $249 ($199), Brokerage, no second-person approval |
| Buffer | $18 ($15), Essentials | $120 ($100), Team | $180 ($150), Team |
| Later | $25 ($18.75), Starter | $85 ($63.75), Growth + 2 sets + 1 user | $160 ($120), Scale + 3 sets + 1 user |
| Metricool | $25 ($20), Starter | $67 ($53), Advanced | $67 ($53), Advanced |
| SocialPilot | $20 ($17), Essentials | $40 ($34), Standard | $110, Standard + 15 accounts + 2 users |
| Hootsuite | $99 billed yearly, Standard | $1,197 billed yearly, Advanced × 3 | $1,995 billed yearly, Advanced × 5 |
| Sprout Social | $99 ($79), Essentials | $1,197 ($897), Professional × 3 | $1,995 ($1,495), Professional × 5 |
Later's sets and Metricool's brands each hold one profile per network, so the count you need equals your busiest network. The team setup assumes 4 Instagram, 3 Facebook and 3 TikTok profiles; the brokerage assumes 9, 8 and 8. SocialPilot does not publish annual pricing for add-ons, so its brokerage figure is monthly only. Buffer and Metricool also have free plans that suit a solo agent posting a few times a week.
Two things stand out. Per-user tools jump from affordable to four figures the moment approvals and a second user appear. And for a team that needs sign-off, SocialPilot Standard at $40 is hard to beat.
Which schedulers can publish Reels and Stories automatically?
Most schedulers publish feed posts without trouble. Stories and some Reels are where they fall back to a phone notification, which means someone still has to tap "share" at the right time.
| Tool | Instagram feed and carousels | Instagram Reels | Instagram Stories | TikTok | Instagram first comment |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Velisto | Automatic | Automatic | Automatic | Automatic | Not documented |
| Buffer | Automatic | Automatic; notification with music or links | Basic Stories automatic; text or stickers by notification | Automatic, Business accounts | Paid plans |
| Later | Automatic | Automatic | Automatic from Business profiles only | Automatic, Business accounts | All plans |
| Metricool | Automatic | Automatic; notification with outside audio | Automatic; links or stickers by notification | Videos and photo posts | Posts and Reels |
| SocialPilot | Automatic | Automatic | Automatic | Automatic by default | All plans |
| Hootsuite | Feed posts automatic from Business profiles | Automatic from Business profiles | Notification only | Check current support | Direct posts |
| Sprout Social | Automatic | Automatic; notification with library music | Automatic; stickers or notes by notification | Videos only, Business accounts | Supported |
Every tool here needs an Instagram Business or Creator account and a Facebook Page, not a personal profile, to publish automatically.
Posting slots, best times and bulk upload
How a tool decides when posts go out matters more than it sounds once you are scheduling a month at a time.
| Tool | Queue with time slots | Best-time suggestions | Bulk upload by CSV | Repeating posts |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Velisto | Yes, per workspace | No | No (CSV imports listings, not posts) | Yes, daily to monthly |
| Buffer | Yes, per channel | Not documented | All plans | Not documented |
| Later | Quick Schedule | Yes; multi-profile from Growth | Not documented | Not documented |
| Metricool | Autolists | All plans | Yes | Advanced only |
| SocialPilot | Smart Queues | AI-suggested times | From Standard | All plans |
| Hootsuite | Not documented | All plans | All plans, up to 350 posts | Not documented |
| Sprout Social | Sprout Queue | ViralPost, all plans | From Professional | Not documented |
"Not documented" means the vendor's help center did not confirm it when we checked, not that the feature is absent.
Do real estate agents need a third-party scheduler at all?
Not always. Meta's own Business Suite lets you "create or schedule posts, stories and ads" for Facebook and Instagram, with an inbox and insights included. An agent publishing only to those two networks may not need to pay for anything else.
A third-party tool earns its cost when you need one calendar across several networks, shared team access with approvals, analytics in one place, or help creating the content. Below that threshold, native tools are a reasonable answer.
Scheduler, or a tool that also creates the posts?
A scheduler is enough when your graphics, videos and captions already exist and the problem is getting them out on time. If the problem starts earlier, with an empty calendar and no time to write, design or edit, no scheduler fixes that, because scheduling is the last step. That is where a platform that creates the content too does different work, and where the broader tools comparison helps you pick design, video and content tools to pair with a scheduler.
Frequently asked questions
What is the best social media scheduling tool for real estate agents? It depends on your size and sign-off rules. Buffer is cheapest for a solo agent with finished content, SocialPilot is the best value for a team that needs approvals, Metricool is strongest on analytics, Later on visual planning, Hootsuite and Sprout on enterprise governance, and Velisto where you also want the posts created for you.
What is the cheapest social media scheduler for a real estate agent? Buffer's and Metricool's free plans cost nothing for light use. Among paid plans, Buffer Essentials is $18 a month for three channels ($15 billed yearly) and SocialPilot Essentials is $20 ($17 yearly) for five accounts.
Which scheduler is cheapest if someone has to approve posts? SocialPilot Standard, at $40 a month ($34 yearly) for 10 accounts and 3 users with approval workflows included. Later Growth and Buffer Team also include approvals; Hootsuite and Sprout only include them on plans priced per user from $299 a month.
Is there a free social media scheduler for Realtors? Yes. Buffer's free plan covers 3 channels with 10 scheduled posts each, Metricool's covers 1 brand with 20 posts a month, and Meta Business Suite schedules posts and Stories for Facebook Pages and Instagram at no cost.
Can real estate agents schedule Instagram posts? Yes, every tool here publishes to Instagram. Automatic publishing needs a Business or Creator account; a personal profile cannot be connected.
Can I schedule Instagram Reels and Stories? Yes, but check the details. Most tools publish plain Reels and Stories automatically, while Stories with stickers or links and Reels with licensed music often fall back to a phone notification. Hootsuite sends every Story by notification.
Can real estate agents schedule Facebook and TikTok posts? Yes. All seven publish to Facebook Pages, and all publish TikTok videos, usually from a TikTok Business account. Sprout does not support TikTok image posts.
What is the difference between Buffer and Velisto? Buffer publishes content you have already made, to eleven networks, from $6 per channel a month. Velisto creates the posts first, with AI, from your listings or any topic, then publishes to Instagram, Facebook, TikTok and Threads, priced per plan. Buffer reaches more networks; Velisto does more before the post exists.
Is Hootsuite worth it for a real estate agent? For a solo agent, usually not: it starts at $99 per user a month billed yearly, and approvals need Advanced at $399 per user. For a brokerage with a marketing team and governance needs, it is easier to justify.
Does Velisto support LinkedIn? Not yet. Velisto publishes to Instagram, Facebook, TikTok and Threads. LinkedIn and YouTube are built and awaiting platform approval, and we do not put a date on someone else's review queue. If LinkedIn matters today, every other tool here supports it.
Which scheduler is best for a brokerage? It depends on the constraint. SocialPilot or Buffer Team for approvals at a reasonable cost, Metricool for reporting across many brands, Hootsuite or Sprout for enterprise governance, and Velisto where producing the content is the bottleneck.
Which scheduler is best for a real estate marketing agency? Agencies needing client approval and white-label reporting will find them in SocialPilot Premium, Metricool Custom or Sprout Advanced. Agencies whose value is producing property marketing may prefer Velisto's per-client workspaces, which keep each client's brand, channels and calendar separate.
The best scheduler depends on your size and your sign-off rules
If you post alone and your content is ready, Buffer or SocialPilot Essentials will do it well for under $20 a month.
If someone has to approve posts, SocialPilot Standard is the value pick, with Buffer Team and Later Growth close behind. Hootsuite and Sprout make sense only when you also need their inbox, listening and governance.
If producing the content is the hard part, Velisto creates it with AI, from your listings or any topic, and schedules it in one place, on fewer networks than the rest.
